GIP India, Day 53, After Sula.

Okay, the weekend is here, and I have been really bust the past week with a lot of individual commitments to attend to. This is what happens when a group decides to send their best man to all the most dangerous missions.

They send, MrWiseGuy.

So anyways, I'll make it up to you guys by blogging about last weekend part 2 which we spent with Andrew of www.hippopotamas.blogspot.com.

GIP India, Day 48, A Smile a Day.

Awwww man, felt like crap yesterday. No mood to blog, no mood to surf facebook, no mood to do anything. Sian la. But today, I feel good! Don't know why... In fact, I feel so good, I don't feel like blogging about what happened last weekend. hehe.

So anyways, I was issued another project at work yesterday. Oh boy, now I have two tough + dirty projects to tackle. On the bright side of things, these projects are somewhat inter-related and the introduction of the 2nd project means I have more content and background information for my 1st. :)

Happy! Sha la la la. Its so nice to be happy...

I'm going to skip along now and make the best out of my happy mood. Yey!

GIP India, Day 46, Sula Vineyard.

It was a great weekend, really. Andrew and Ashish landed in Nashik yesterday, and it is always great to have friends visit us in the sleepy town of Nashik. Andrew reached our place in the afternoon riding pillion on Ashish's bike. Alhamdulillah both were okay except for the part where they ride in the blistering sun for the remaining hour of their journey. Andrew looked like someone smeared charcoal on his face no thanks to the dust.

Nashik,GIP India
Andrew, fresh from the ride.

Andrew and Ashish, chillaxing on the couch.

It was great seeing the funny guy. Never fails to bring cheer and laughter to the group and even though it has only been an hour since he left, we're already starting to miss him. He should be somewhere along the Nashik - Pune highway now.

Nashik,GIP India
Where else but MacDonald's!

Camwhoring at Levi's. The staff were anal about us taking pics.

Andrew was alive and kicking even after the five hour butt numbing bike ride. He was unusually hyper and didn't want to rest, not for one bit. So off we head off to the most happening place on Earth, College Road. And a College Road trip would not be complete with our weekly fix of MacDonald's! Yey! Sat at the exact same place as the time Farah and Jamuna visited, with each of us sitting at the exact same seats. haiz. dejavu at its best. Didn't do much except to look see at all the shops. Adidas has ended their sale and DAMN, I missed out on a good deal on their sweaters.

Anyways, since Nashik is popular for their vineyards and wine, we decided to pay a visit to Sula Vineyard. It was a twenty minutes ride, and the vineyard is thirty acres big! Huge or what...

After the sun sets, we had no choice but to camwhore by the light.

There was to be Sulafest, but the entrance fee is at INR 700! 700 rupees or what! Its crazy la. So expensive. We didn't enter, but instead opted to stay out of the fest, and just opt for the tasting rooms. Oh, and I think Sula Vineyard is THE place for the rich and famous in Nashik. Ang Mohs, ATAS Indians, all pop out of nowhere and congregate over there. Fuiyo.

It has a nice atmosphere, very calm, serene, and friendly. And best of all, there is a mountain overlooking the vineyard, and it creates a breathtaking photo opportunity. Which explains the countless group shots as above. Spent about 2 hours or so there, and off we go, to our usual makan joint, Chines Cabana.

Nashik,GIP India
After a short explanation on Wiring Harnesses from MrWiseguy, we're back on the roads.

Nashik,GIP India
Andrew, trying hard to be PCK.

Nashik,GIP India
Chines Cabana Rocks or wad.

The ride to Chines Cabana was to be an unforgettable one. First and foremost, we had a burden and waited at the road side for a good half hour. Secondly, the wiring for the spark plug was disconnected, and me being me, fresh from my wiring harness study at work, pin pointed the problem to the Auto Guy while using my S90 red light to illuminate the engine.

And to make it worse, we ran out of petrol after that!!!! !@$#@^#@%&@&#&. I lost my cool at that moment and shouted "Dey Baiya, WHAT THE F***! First spark plug, now this??"

Of which he quickly said "Sorry Sorry!!! Dust in Engine nah... Sorry Sorry. Petrol nehi nah."

lol. I thought he could not understand me but he did! See! You need expletives to make them understand! Pissed + hungry + 5 people squeezed at the back in auto = MrWiseGuy blows up. Fortunately we were travelling in a convoy of 1 auto and 2 bikes. The bikes got the petrol, and we were soon on our way....

Chines Cabana (yes its spelt as Chines) is a yummy roadside stall to patronise. Food is good, price is cheap, atmosphere is priceless....

(STAY TUNED FOR PART 2)

GIP India, Day 44, Anuraj's Birthday. Again.

We celebrated B.Anuraj's birthday. Again. Yesterday. Got him a cake and a ball, his gf sent cookies over, and his family e-ordered cakes and a bouquet of flowers. Sweet or what. B.Anuraj turned 24 yesterday.

It was a success because he had no idea when we bought the cake, we made it seem that we forgot his birthday AND best of all, we got him a ball. And all of us know he hasn't got any. :P

Nashik,GIP India
Happy Birthday to you.

Nashik,GIP India
Raj had no idea what was coming.

Raj was super cute la hugging the ball and all. He couldn't stop wondering when we got the gifts, and kept asking. But we're not telling. Not even to anyone. heh.

GIP India, Day 43, Silver Oak 2.

Andrew met up with us at a shopping mall called Krome. His house was deep in the Pune Labyrinth, and after 'ek + ek + ek + ek ^ infinity minutes', we finally reached Silver Oak 2 a.k.a. Andrew' crib in Pune. The plan was to surprise Farah, Jamuna and Kian Boon (who travelled to Pune after work) and surprise them we did!

Jamuna has noooo idea we were hiding behind the door.

Farah was ecstatic and bounced around like like like like Trigger. *boing boing boing* goes the happy Farah. And Jamuna came in later who later shrieked and also bounced around. *Boing Boing Boing* goes the happy Jamuna. It wasn't the same for Kian Boon though. But what the heck. That guy deserve a beating for not even acting excited. HAHAH! That will be scheduled on our trip to Mumbai next month ya!

There are 3 February babies in our group. Jamuna, Anuraj and Kian Boon all fall on February, coincidentally on the same week, and we took this opportunity to celebrate. Kudos to Andrew for coordinating and keeping everything in secret. He bought the cake, got the candles, and got the raw materials for the card.

Macam cut wedding cake lah.

Andrew made cute cards for each one of them. I really mean it when I say they are custom-made. B.Anuraj had a drawing of his dad (his dad wasn't a singh, yet he has a turban on) and himself (pointing a middle finger with his ribs showing), Jamuna had a drawing of rush hour traffic (and an ad at the side of the road stating "Jam offering free XXX"), and Kian Boon had a drawing of a baboon holding a 'banana'. Damn cute I tell you. The amount of sincerity behind that card, is out of this world.

Visit Andrew at www.hippopotamas.blogspot.com. His posts are hilarious!

We headed to SGS Mall, a shopping centre nearby Andrew's to chillax and do what normal teenagers do; lepak. Had lunch at Pizza Hut, AND ALSO to surprise Farah (who was left out of the VDay action). Since sharing is caring, ALL 6 of us guys asked Farah to be our Valentine. And I believe she's more than happy to become ours. heh. Her expression = priceless.

As they say, all good things must come to an end. We left Pune at 1830, and were soon in an A/C coach headed for Nashik. It was a trip worth making to celebrate the many occasions; Birthdays, VDay and CNY.

On behalf of the Nashik boys, "We enjoyed ourselves and it was great spending our very short weekend with you guys. Love you very much."

And to my family in Singapore, "I love you Ma, Pa, Haiqal and Kakak-dee"

And to my Coco, "I love you too"

hehehehe... CIAOZ!
